Rhode Island College celebrates 164th Commencement

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island College celebrates its 164th Commencement on Saturday.

In all, the college will confer 1330 undergraduate degrees and 257 advanced degrees at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.

The keynote speaker for the undergraduate degree ceremony is Jeff Kirwan, a 1993 RIC graduate. He is the former Global President and CEO of the Gap brand at The Gap, Inc.

The keynote speaker for the advanced degree ceremony is Anna Cano-Morales, a 1999 RIC graduate. She is the Associate Vice President of Community, Equity and Diversity at RIC.

Receiving and honorary degree this year is Jane Bodine Williams, Ph.D., RN. She is a leading voice in nursing education in Rhode Island for over 40 years. Her career at RIC began in 1975 and will retire this year.

Other speakers at the commencement include Gov. Gina Raimondo, Rep. Jim Langevin and Treasurer Seth Magaziner. Other leaders from across the state and the RIC community will also participate.
