Providence police ID first homicide victim of the year

PROVIDENCE, RI (WPRI) – Police have identified the man who was shot and killed early Saturday morning.

Providence police said Gerald Taylor, 41, was shot and killed around 1:30 a.m. while on Andem Street.

Police said the victim’s last known address was in Pawtucket and no arrests have been made. An investigation into the incident is on-going.

This is the first homicide of the new year in the Capital City.
