Providence man, 26, wounded in stabbing

Man, 26, Stabbed in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A 26-year-old Providence man is recovering after he was stabbed Tuesday night.

According to police, the victim flagged down an officer around 9 p.m. near the corner of Broad and Portland Streets.

The man was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where at last check he was in stable condition. Police said his injury is serious but not life-threatening.

The victim told police he was trying to break up a fight when he was stabbed by another man, described as a white male with tattoos on his neck.

Police believe the suspect knew the victim but no arrests have been made so far.
