FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Police on Tuesday identified a Providence man killed in a four-car crash on I-95 South in Foxboro.
Massachusetts State Police says that Fernalbiz Albizu was killed in a crash at about 3:30 a.m. Monday. He was outside of his vehicle assisting with a previous accident, when the group was stuck by another vehicle.
Four other people were injured in the crash.
As of noon Tuesday, State Police Trooper David Cravedi told Eyewitness News the extent of the other injuries was unknown.
Albizu, 33, leaves behind two sons. His loved ones are still coming to grips with his death, and remember him as a bright spirit that always lit up the room.
“He was a great, great kid,” said his father, Fernando Albizu.
“He was an awesome person,” added his sister, Nanleomariz. “Every time we would have our little functions, he would pop up out of nowhere and joke around with everybody and make everybody laugh and feel good.”
Albizu’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to to help with funeral costs.
Police said an accident reconstruction team is working to determine what led up to the crash.
