Providence crash sends mother, 2 children to hospital

News

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A mother and her two young children were rushed to the hospital Tuesday following a crash in Providence.

The woman’s car hit a utility pole at about 3 p.m. on Commodore Street, just past the intersection with Silver Spring Street.

Police said the 42-year-old mother, her 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son were hospitalized with unspecified injuries. The daughter is currently in critical condition, according to Commander Thomas Verdi.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation but Verdi said it did not appear that alcohol nor drugs were factors.
