PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The first Providence International Arts Festival is set to take the stage Saturday.

Several artists and performers gave the city a sneak peek of their skills Friday at Kennedy Plaza.

The mission of the festival, as thought out by Mayor Jorge Elorza in his campaign last year, is to show off more of the arts and culture of the city.

The festival’s events begin 4 p.m. Saturday — and will run until midnight.
