PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — About a dozen people protested Saturday night outside the home of convicted child rapist Richard Gardner.

Many protestors were telling Gardner to go back to the ACI. Providence police were also on scene keeping the peace.

Gardner was released from prison on Monday after being held for two weeks on a probation violation charge.

A judge dismissed the charge saying he believed Gardner was charged because of his previous crimes molesting young boys, not because of the new, minor allegation.
