Police: Smithfield woman arrested after pot bust

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) – Smithfield Police detectives seized 68 marijuana plants and 13 individual bags of marijuana on Wednesday.

Police said digital scales and packaging materials were also taken from the Douglas Pike home.

According to police, detectives learned of an unlawful marijuana grow at the home and conducted an investigation. Police then obtained a search warrant for the home and detached garage.

Detectives took Donna Reis, 57, into custody without incident following the search, police said.

Reis is charged with unlawful manufacturing of marijuana, possession of marijuana greater than 5 kilograms, and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

Reis is expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
