Police seek 2 thieves who stole from woman suffering medical crisis

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – The Warwick Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two grinches they say stole from a woman this holiday season.

Police said the woman was having a medical emergency in the parking lot of the Mobil gas station on Jefferson Boulevard last Wednesday.

While she was being assisted by medical personnel on the scene, a couple entered her unattended vehicle and stole the victim’s pocketbook, containing cash, her iPhone 6, and credit cards. Police said those credit cards were fraudulently used by the suspects in Providence shortly after the theft.

The male, who police are calling “Thomas,” is believed to be in his 30s. The woman, identified only as “Joyce,” is described as having no upper teeth and blackened lower teeth. Both are believed to be frequent residents of the Motel 6, located across from the gas station where the theft occurred.

Warwick Police ask anyone with information to call Detective Dave Morrow at (401)-468-4239.
