CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WPRI) — Authorities in Central Falls have served an arrest warrant for a man possibly tied to an early morning shooting.
According to police, 22-year-old Moses Vieira Cabral, with a last known address of 15 Beacon Street, is wanted on several drug charges.
Police said an arrest warrant for Cabral was obtained after officers executed a search warrant at his home Friday night.
Police said the search of his home stemmed from the investigation into a shooting that occurred early Friday morning on Beacon Street – just one block from the city’s police and fire headquarters.
According to police, 23-year-old Felix Cepeda, of Central Falls, was shot inside a car around 1:45 a.m.
He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
As a result of the search of Cabral’s home, police uncovered a large amount of crack cocaine and marijuana.
Police said Cabral is wanted on several charges, including possession with intent to distribute cocaine, distribution of a controlled substance near a school and possession of marijuana.
While Cabral’s current charges are unrelated to the shooting, officials said he continues to be a suspect in the crime. Police told Eyewitness News they also have other persons of interest in mind.
Moses Cabral is described as a black male, about 5’9″ and 170 pounds. Police said he has tattoos on his right arm, right hand, right wrist and left wrist.
Because he is a person of interest, Cabral should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.
Anyone with information about Cabral or his whereabouts should contact the Central Falls Police Department at (401) 727-7411.
