JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Police from Johnston and Cranston were called to a crash early Thursday morning on Plainfield Pike.

Johnston police tell Eyewitness News that around 1:00 a.m. a vehicle pulled out from a side street, crossed the double yellow line, and struck another car that was traveling east. That collision started a domino effect, which ended with a third vehicle being struck.

Two sedans involved in the crash sustained heavy front end damage.

Police have not released any information about injuries or what may have caused the crash.
