Police nab suspect in UPS Store armed robbery

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) – Police arrested a Massachusetts man in connection with an armed robbery at the UPS Store in North Smithfield Saturday afternoon.

Matthew Grenier of South Grafton, Mass. is accused of robbing the UPS Store on Victory Highway at gunpoint.

Police say it happened around 12:15 p.m. Saturday in the Slatersville Plaza.

According to police, Grenier lifted his shirt and flashed what appeared to be a gun before demanding money and taking off.

Massachusetts State Troopers arrested him shortly thereafter.

He is now charged with first-degree armed robbery and larceny.
