REHOBOTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Authorities in Rehoboth have charged a man with his fourth operating under the influence offense, police confirmed.

Domingo Fernandes, of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, was arrested Friday.

According to police, a call came in around 3 p.m. stating that a hit and run had taken place in the area of 73 Anawan Street and that there was some property damage. The vehicle was described as a small white SUV with damage to its front end.

Shortly after the call, officers spotted the car. According to police, when an officer tried to pull the vehicle over on Anawan Street, it pulled into an Exxon Gas Station, jumped a curb, and almost struck a van in the parking lot.

Police said he was held on $20,000 cash bail and will be arraigned Monday.
