FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A Fall River man is facing charges after police said he made numerous threats against people, businesses and the city on social media.
Police said they arrested Joseph Anctil at his home on Plain Street on Monday.
According to police, a woman came to their headquarters that afternoon and reported Anctil had made threats online against her and the city of Fall River.
Anctil, 31, allegedly said he was going to go to the woman’s workplace and strangle her. Police said Anctil’s post also included threats to “make bombs” and “blow up the city car by car,” along with a city business.
In addition, Anctil reportedly threatened to buy a gun and kill the receptionist at the employment agency where he worked for two weeks, according to police.
