Police: Man arrested for stealing tires, rims in Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WPRI) – Members of the Dartmouth Police Department made an arrest Wednesday in connection with a theft of tires and rims from a 2013 Honda Accord.

According to police, officers reported to McCabe Street at approximately 3 a.m. and were told the suspect or suspects had fled the scene prior to their arrival.

A Dartmouth Police K-9 unit was then deployed, and after a short search, officers located a male suspect hiding in a wooded area nearby.

Police said Bret Silva, of Acushnet, was arrested following an investigation.

Silva was charged with receiving stolen property over $250, malicious destruction of property over $250 and possession of burglarious tools, according to police.
