Police: Four injured in fight outside Providence bar

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Police are searching for two suspects responsible for assaulting four men near a Providence bar.

Providence police confirm the incident happened at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday in the area of Tockwotton and South Main Streets.

Police said four men and a woman left the bar and were heading to their car when another car pulled up, and one of the occupants made an inappropriate remark towards the woman.

An argument began, which escalated into an assault when two men exited the second car and approached the four men.

The four male victims suffered facial injuries. According to police, one victim was knocked unconscious and suffered injuries to his face, head and neck.

Two of the victims, including the man who lost consciousness, were taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

The identities of the suspects and victims have not been released.

Police continue to investigate the incident and search for the two alleged attackers.
