Police: Cocaine, fentanyl among drugs seized from North Smithfield home

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — A North Smithfield man was arrested Thursday after narcotics investigators seized a variety of drugs from his home.

According to Rhode Island State Police, members of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force and the North Smithfield Police Department executed a search warrant at Jason Lenox’s Cynthia Drive residence.

Police said they seized 12.4 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of fentanyl, 55 Clonazepam pills, 7 Adderall pills, 8 grams of methadone powder, 4 vials of suspected steroids, and other items used for drug distribution such as scales and cutting agents.

Lenox, 32, was charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver and manufacture, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and manufacture, possession of Clonazepam with intent to deliver and manufacture, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance (Adderall and Methadone).

Lenox was arraigned and ordered held without bail. Police said he was also presented as a probation violator stemming from a previous drug-related arrest.
