Police bust prostitution ring in Pawtucket area

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) – Twenty-one people were arrested this week in connection with a prostitution ring in Pawtucket and Central Falls.

The sting, which targeted the Dexter and Barton street areas, was conducted on August 25 by members of both the Pawtucket and Central Falls police departments, Pawtucket police said Friday.

Of the 21 people arrested, five women were charged with loitering for prostitution, 13 men were charged with a procurement of sexual conduct for a fee, while the remaining men were charged with soliciting from a motor vehicle for indecent purposes.

Police said nine of the people arrested were arraigned on Thursday.
