FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — Fall River police said the city’s Crime & Gang Impact Task Force has made another two arrests in ongoing efforts to quell gang-related violence.
Police recently arrested Christopher Dejesus and a 16-year-old on multiple weapons charges including unlawful possession of a large capacity firearm, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and firearm violation with prior violent or drug crime conviction.
While investigating potential gang activity, police said members of the task force saw a video of the two suspects on social media in which they were holding guns – one described as having a distinct tan-colored grip – and pointing them at the camera.
Police said at that time task force members began surveillance of 14 Downing Street, which they believed to be a gang hangout.
Once police saw the two suspects outside the Downing Street house – they approached the suspects.
They said the teen ran into the basement area of the hangout. Once they took the suspect into custody they observed the weapon they had seen in the online video and obtained a search warrant. While executing the warrant, police said investigators found a plastic bag containing 12 rounds of ammunition hidden in a drop ceiling of the basement.
