WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Members of the Warwick Police Department have arrested two people in connection with vandalism at Warwick North Little League’s complex.

According to police, two surveillance cameras were damaged on Aug. 8 around 9: 45 p.m. at “The Pit” on Post Road. Police said the cameras, valued at $300, were destroyed but one kept recording – and captured an image of a juvenile male.

Police then released the photo of the boy and it was shared on social media. According to police, the juvenile was cooperative and not responsible for the damage.

As a result of an investigation, police arrested two men Friday. One suspect, an 18-year-old from Cranston, was only 17 at the time of the crime and has not been identified by police. He is currently charged with malicious damage. Police say he was the one responsible for breaking the cameras.

A Providence man, identified as 19-year-old Dante Paliotti, was also arrested and charged with obstructing a police officer. Police said Paliotti “gave a false witness account at the beginning of the investigation.”

The field is home to the 12-year-old boys team that’s one win away from going to the Worlds Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
