Police: 3rd suspect in fatal Providence shooting captured in Boston

BOSTON (WPRI) — Police have a third suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in Providence.

Boston police confirm Rashawn Banks, 27, was arrested as a fugitive from justice in connection with the murder of Jacorey Sanders back in June.

Providence Police Maj. David Lapatin confirmed to Eyewitness News Friday morning police believe Banks is the gunman.

Sanders, 25, was shot and killed while walking to his car by a group of suspects after leaving the city’s pride festival on Garnet St.

Police have already arrested two men in connection with Sanders’ murder. George Webb, 23, and Anthony Sharpe, 24, both from the Boston area. With Banks in custody, police are still seeking two more suspects in connection with the crime.

Banks will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court Friday before being turned over to Providence police.
