REHOBOTH, Mass. (WPRI) — Authorities in Rehoboth have arrested two men and one juvenile for conspiring to break into a home, police said.
According to Rehoboth police, officers were called to a home on Anawan Street around 11 a.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious activity.
The homeowner contacted police after he was approached by a man, who asked him if he needed landscaping work done in his yard. The homeowner told police that the man got back into a pickup truck parked in the driveway, and drove away down Anawan Street.
The homeowner reported seeing at least two white males inside the vehicle.
Police officers responded to the area, and quickly tracked down the truck. After speaking with the individuals, officers determined that the men did not have any reason to be in the area and the truck they were in matched the description of a truck seen at the scene of two other Rehoboth break-ins.
Upon further investigation, police said they found the individuals to be in possession of a screwdriver.
Matthew Andrade, 26, and Nuno Ferreira, 20, both of Woonsocket, as well as a 16-year-old minor, were all charged with conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, possession of burglarious tools, and disturbing the peace.
All three suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Taunton District Court.
