Pedestrian dies after being struck by train in Mansfield

MANSFIELD, Mass. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after a person was struck and killed by a train near the MBTA station in Mansfield.

According to police, the pedestrian was hit at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Mansfield firefighters responded and pronounced the person dead at the scene.

Mansfield police said pedestrian and vehicle traffic is currently restricted at the Crocker Street station. Mansfield Avenue remains open, but police said delays should be expected.

If you’re unable to access your vehicle, police ask that you check in with the officer working by 214 Rumford Ave.
