PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Pawtucket Police Department’s therapy dog, Watson, visited students at Curtis Elementary School Tuesday morning.

K9 Watson sat with the kids as School Resource Officer Uwe Summer and Detective Trevor Lefebrve read to first-grade students as part of “Reading Week.”

Watson was the first full-time Police Therapy K9 in Rhode Island.

The Goldendoodle’s day-to-day job is to make adults and children feel calmer when they’re in the presence of police or when they’ve just had a traumatic experience.

To keep up with Watson’s activities, you can follow him on Facebook.
