PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — Pawtucket police are hoping surveillance images will help them track down a thief who stole an Amazon package from a resident’s doorstep.

The packages were delivered to a home on John Street Monday morning. At 10:41 a.m., a thief wearing a vest and hooded sweatshirt was captured on surveillance camera stealing the packages.

Police said the packages contained men’s clothing, the Walking Dead board game and a Firefly board game.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes this person to call Detective Raymond Doran at 401-727-9100 ext 742.

In the meantime, they are urging residents to take extra precaution to ensure packages aren’t easy targets for thieves.

“Thieves will follow delivery trucks and swoop down to take the packages from your front door,” the police said in a Facebook post.

They suggested arranging to have deliveries made to a secure place or arrange to have someone accept packages for you.
