PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island native and Grammy nominated-singer Jeffrey Osborne presented local non-profit organizations with $60,000 in donations Thursday morning, raised through the 2018 Jeffrey Osborne Celebrity Classic golf tournament.
Osborne handed out the checks in a ceremony at The Met School, one of the organizations benefiting from the fundraiser.
Others benefiting include Amos House, The Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence, The Music School of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, St. Mary’s Home for Children, Button Hole and Barros Center for the Arts.
The tournament’s mission is to benefit organizations that support music and the arts for children and families, as well as safe-haven providers for families in need.
Since the tournament was launched, it’s provided more than $1,000,000 to Rhode Island and Connecticut non-profits, according to tournament officials.
