One person killed in Taunton shooting

TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) – The Bristol County District Attorney’s office and local police are investigating after a Saturday evening shooting left one person dead and three others injured.

Police received a call of shots fired shortly before 6 p.m. on Weir Street.

All four victims suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to nearby hospitals. One of the individuals, 24-year-old Marques McCassie, was transported to Morton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The other three victims are still recovering from their injuries.

A joint investigation with the Taunton Police Department, Massachusetts State Police detectives and Homicide Unit prosecutors is underway.
