One of Coventry’s most wanted arrested after police chase

COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) — One of Coventry’s most wanted has been arrested after police received a tip concerning his whereabouts and a foot chase.

According to a news release, Joshua Thibodeau, 25, of West Warwick, was taken into custody Sunday afternoon around 2:07 p.m.

A foot chase involving Coventry, West Warwick, and Scituate police officers ensued after Thibodeau fled from the police at the Cumberland Farms on Main Street in West Warwick.

Police say that Thibodeau fled through several yards in the neighborhood, leading to a yard by yard search for police, but then emerged back onto Main Street where he was taken into custody.

Thibodeau had an active arrest warrant for breaking and entering and was wanted by the Coventry police, according to a statement.

He will be held until arraignment in the Kent County District Court for breaking and entering and resisting arrest.
