PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence officials are set to discuss the future of the vacant Fogarty building.

According to The Providence Journal report, the city councils’ finance committee will hold a public hearing on a tax-break plan for a proposed hotel.

The group behind the hotel wants to demolish the Fogarty Building so they can build the business. The group is pushing for a 12-year tax treaty with the city.

The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday.
