Father of Sandy Hook shooting victim found dead in apparent suicide

NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTNH/KRON) - Police have confirmed the death of Jeremy Richman, father of Sandy Hook tragedy victim, Avielle Richman.

Richman, 49, was found dead at approximately 7 a.m. after the report of a suicide at Edmond Town Hall located at 45 Main Street in Newtown, Connecticut. 

According to a Facebook post by the Newtown Police Department, "The death appears to be a suicide but police will not disclose the method or any other details of  the death, only to state the death does not appear suspicious."

Richman's death is the third suicide with a mass shooting-related connection reported in the last week. 

Sydney Aiello, 19, took her own life on March 17, and it was announced over the weekend that a second student (whose name has not been released) also committed suicide. Both were survivors of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
