CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — A local boy who gained worldwide attention during his battle with cancer received a special honor Sunday.
Cranston Mayor Allan Fung presented the key to the city to Dorian Murray’s family during a #DStrong Funny 4 Funds fundraiser in Dorian’s honor.
Dorian, an 8-year-old boy from Westerly, has been fighting a rare form of pediatric cancer since he was four. His parents recently stopped treatment after learning the disease had spread.
#DStrong captured the world’s attention after Dorian told his parents he wanted to become famous in China before he went to heaven.
Now, Dorian’s hashtag #DStrong is taking the world by storm.
