PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A recent recall of infant ibuprofen has been expanded by its manufacturer, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday.

According to the FDA, Tris Pharma, Inc. added three additional lots of Ibuprofen Oral Suspension Drops to the recall after some batches were found to have higher levels of ibuprofen concentration.

The pain reliever/fever reducer is packaged in ½-oz. and 1-oz. bottles.

The FDA said infants who may already be susceptible to adverse effects from a higher potency of ibuprofen could be at a higher risk if given medication from one of the affected bottles.

Retailers should cease distribution of the recalled ibuprofen and consumers are advised to contact their physician or healthcare provider with any issues that may be related to consumption of these products.

Anyone with questions can contact Tris Customer Service at 732-940-0358 during standard business hours or by email at
