Man pleads guilty to shooting romantic rival

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Woonsocket man has admitted to shooting a romantic rival during an argument.

According to Attorney General Peter Kilmartin, 28-year-old Lorenzo Hicks-Hinson pleaded guilty Monday to felony assault and weapons charges.

Prosecutors said Hicks-Hinson shot David Harmon twice in the stomach, when Harmon confronted him at Hick-Hinson’s home on Diamond Hill Road on March 25th. According to investigators, Harmon suspected his girlfriend had been having an affair with Hicks-Hinson while Harmon was in prison.

Hicks-Hinson is scheduled to be sentenced on February 5, 2016.
