NEWPORT, R.I. — A Newport resident has been indicted in connection with a December incident at the Cumberland Farms store on 94 Aquidneck Avenue in Middletown.
According to police, Alexander Tobiassen, 22, has been charged with first-degree robbery, felony assault, and possession of a knife.
In December, Tobiassen allegedly entered the Cumberland Farms, assaulted a customer, and robbed the clerk of $30.
Police said Tobiassen was located by police shortly after in the parking lot of Easton Beach in Newport, where he was found to be in possession of a knife.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Newport County Superior Court on March 9.
