MATTAPOISETT, Mass. (WPRI) — Police have arrested a man at a Mattapoisett motel they believe could be connected to several burglaries in nearby towns.

Shawn Oller, 39, was arrested at the Hillside Motel on Marian Road on Friday. He had three outstanding warrants for his arrest. Officers found a stolen 40-caliber Smith and Wesson semiautomatic handgun with the serial number removed in his possession along with two additional loaded ammunition magazines, stolen tools and camping equipment. Some of the items were connected to burglaries in Falmouth and Fairhaven.

Oller’s charges include possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, defacing the serial numbers on a firearm, possession of ammunition, a firearm violation with three prior crimes, and receiving stolen property over $250. Police say more charges could be likely from investigations in the other towns.
