WESTPORT, Mass. (WPRI) – A New Bedford man is accused of multiple breakins at the same Westport gas station.

According to police, Westport Gas at 634 American Legion Highway was broken into three times in four days in late March. The suspect, who was caught on video, smashed windows to gain access and then sole lottery tickets.

The suspect cashed several of those stolen lottery tickets and was subsequently identified as 39 year-old Daniel DaCruz Pedro of New Bedford. Police said he is “well known” to them and had an outstanding arrest warrant from New Bedford District Court.

Police went to his home on Friday and arrested him; he is at the Bristol County House of Corrections until his arraignment on Monday, when he will be charged with three counts of destruction of property, three counts of larceny from a building, three counts of felony nighttime breaking and entering, and three counts of receiving stolen property, specifically a truck.
