Locally-grown peaches in Northeast close to nonexistent


SCITUATE, R.I. (WPRI) — If you’re looking for locally grown peaches this year, you will have a hard time.

It is estimated that 90% of the peach crop in the Northeast has been wiped out, according to WPRI Meteorologist TJ Del Santo.

For orchards like the Barden Family Orchard, this is a problem for their bottom line.Meteorologist TJ Del Santo found out why there is a shortage this year. See his full report in the video above.
