WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A late-night water main break in Warwick on Monday temporarily left residents without water.
Water Division Supervisor Terry DiPetrillo, DPW Director Mat Solitro, the Water Division, and DPW crews responded to West Shore Road by Tidewater Drive around 9 p.m.
Residents had their water back on by 12 p.m. on Tuesday, while the affected portion of the road remained closed until Wednesday morning.
“West Shore Road is now open, and I’d like to compliment all parties involved, especially my staff, the Department of Public Works, the Water Division, police, and fire for completing this in a timely, efficient manner,” Warwick Mayor Joseph Solomon said.
The work may have stirred up minerals, so if residents notice their water is discolored they should run cold water for three to five minutes.
Anyone with questions or concerns may call the Water Division at (401) 738-2008.
