WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Traffic may be a little backed up in the Warwick's Sandy Lane area Thursday afternoon.
The mayor's office sent out a traffic alert, advising that a water main break on the road is delaying the restoration of two-way travel, which was slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
This is the same area where a sewer main collapsed late last month.
The road has been under construction ever since and crews have been reopening it to two-way traffic every day at 3:30 p.m. to alleviate traffic backups throughout the city.
The mayor's office said crews are making repairs to the area affected by this recent water main break - and expect to have them complete by 4:15 p.m.
