WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — An apparent lightning strike at Showcase Cinemas on Tuesday broke a lamp pole, leaving behind a small fire. A nearby car window also appeared to be broken.

Mathieu Salois witnessed the strike as he got out of his car: “There was a lot of white smoke and then I saw the blaze go up for a split second,” he said, “I actually felt the heat.”
