WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A public school staff member in West Warwick has been placed on paid administrative leave, Eyewitness News has learned.

According to Superintendent of Schools Karen Tarasevich, the West Warwick School Department is working with police on an investigation after allegations were made toward the staff member.

It’s unclear at this time what school the staff member works at, or what the allegations against the staff member are.

In a statement, Tarasevich said in part, “the well being of all members of the school community is of the utmost importance and they “take these matters extremely seriously.”
