WEST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) — Police investigating the sale of cocaine and illegal prescription drugs found both inside a West Greenwich man’s home, along with more than a dozen guns.
Rhode Island State Police said they took Walter S. Garbecki into custody Thursday after executing a search warrant at his home on Lake Drive.
Garbecki, 33, was arraigned on a slew of charges and ordered held without bail, pending further court action.
According to police, members of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force seized approximately 3 grams of cocaine and assorted illegal prescription medications, including Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Dextro-Amphetamine, Clonazepam and Diazepam.
Among the firearms seized was an illegally modified, fully automatic AR-15 style rifle, police said. Investigators also found the following inside Garbecki’s home:

New England Firearms Pardner model SB1 12-gauge shotgun
Harrington and Richardson model 120 16-gauge shotgun
.40 caliber handgun
2 Marlin Glenfield model 60 .22 caliber rifles
Mossberg & Sons model 25 .22 caliber rifle
Remington model 580 .22 caliber rifle
Winchester king’s improvement model lever action .32 caliber rifle
Ruger Deerfield Carbine .44 magnum rifle
Tan-colored rifle with no identifying markings
Wood-framed .22 caliber rifle
Approximately 3,000 rounds of assorted ammunition
Two silencers
Cutting agents, scales, and other items used for drug distribution
Police said Garbecki was charged with the following:
13 counts of possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation
Possession of a sawed-off shotgun
License or permit required for carrying pistol
Sale and possession of silencers
Possession with intent to deliver and manufacture cocaine
Possession of a controlled substance I, II, III (Oxycodone)
Possession of a controlled substance I, II, III (Hydrocodone)
Possession of a controlled substance I, II, III (Dextro- Amphetamine)
Possession of a controlled substance I, II, III, IV (Clonazepam)
Possession of a controlled substance I, II, III, IV (Diazepam)
