Police identify pedestrian struck in Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) -- Police have identified the man who was struck by a car while crossing Greenwich Avenue in Warwick on Friday.

Police said 68-year-old David Quinn is still listed in critical condition, but is awake and able to speak.

As previously reported, Quinn was in a crosswalk on Route 5 in front of Greenwich Village Apartments around 7:30 a.m. when he was stuck.  

The driver of the vehicle and several other witnesses stopped and called 911 immediately, according to police.

Police said their preliminary investigation found sun glare to have been a significant factor in the crash.
