WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a garbage truck in Warwick Monday afternoon, according to authorities.
The crash happened on West Shore Road near Francis Street.
Police said the driver hit the garbage truck after briefly falling asleep. That driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the garbage truck was not injured in the crash.
