COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) — A Coventry man is facing drug charges after police executed a search warrant and found 14 grams of cocaine inside his Murray Street apartment.
Zackery Montijo, 25, is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession of amphetamine.
Montijo was arrested following the discovery of the drugs during the search, which occurred on April 23. Besides cocaine, police said they also found digital scales, packaging materials and $13,000 in cash.
Montijo was ordered held without bail at his arraignment and was transported to the ACI for violating the terms of his probation for a 2014 felony assault charge.
Police said Montijo is also expected to be charged with delivery of a controlled substance and controlled substance conspiracy in a separate incident.
Montijo is accused of selling a prescription polling containing carfentanyl last March to a 38-year-old woman, according to police. The woman took the pill believing it was a painkiller before passing out at a Coventry restaurant. Police said she was revived by Narcan.
