EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) — It was a weekend full of energy for some local high school students.

On Friday and Saturday, students from seven local high schools gathered for the first-ever “Hackathon” at Rocky Hill School in East Greenwich.

More than 40 students put their minds together to try to solve some of the world’s energy problems.

The event was called “Hack the Power” and it was organized by a pair of high school juniors from the Rocky Hill 3D design club.
