WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — As Sun Country Airlines launched its service at T.F. Green Airport on Monday, the airline announced plans to expand its offerings later this year to include two popular destinations.

Nonstop routes to Nashville and Minneapolis/St. Paul are now available at the airport and starting in September, travelers will be able to fly directly to Las Vegas and New Orleans.

“Sun Country is an airline on the move and we appreciate that they have included us in their expansion plans,” R.I. Airport Corporation President and CEO Iftikhar Ahmad said in a statement. “Each new route strengthens Rhode Island’s economy and provides greater and more economical travel options for Rhode Island.”

“Sun County hasn’t been in Rhode Island for three months, and they’re already doubling down on their commitment to T.F. Green,” Gov. Gina Raimondo added. “These new routes will give Rhode Islanders easy access to New Orleans and Las Vegas—two of the top destinations for tourism and business.”

Nonstop service to Las Vegas will begin on Sept. 5, according to the RIAC, and flights to New Orleans will start the following day. Flights can already be booked on Sun Country’s website.
