WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — A man was rushed to the hospital after a house fire in Warwick Wednesday morning.

Crews were called to Center Court just before 9 a.m. after a retired member of the fire department saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the home.

The man was trapped inside and was found unconscious, according to Battalion Fire Chief Bill Wilson.

He has since been resuscitated and is alive, according to officials.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
