Verizon: Brief service disruption in RI has been restored

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Verizon customers in Rhode Island may have noticed an interruption in their phone service Tuesday morning.

A Verizon spokesperson told 12 News that “a fiber cut and hardware failure caused a short disruption in service.”

Network engineers identified the issue and service has been restored, according to the spokesperson.
