Taunton man killed, engine falls out of car during Norton crash

NORTON, Mass. (WPRI) — A vehicle caught fire Thursday following a rollover crash involving a utility pole, police said.

According to Norton Police Lt. Todd Jackson, the crash occurred on John Scott Boulevard around 11:15 p.m. The car has a Servpro logo and Jackson said the engine fell out of the car during the crash.

Jackson said the victim, 41, was pronounced dead at Sturdy Memorial Hospital after being ejected from the vehicle. Police have not released the identity of the victim.

According to Jackson, Massachusetts State Police will be handling the rest of the investigation, including accident reconstruction.
